Do you take offense to being educated about things such as skincare and cosmetics?

Appearantly someone was offended by me offering the brand I use and sell of skincare and cosmetics, but I want to know what the rest of you think. I honestly have had woman who thanked me for making them feel pretty for the first time ever. That to me is amazing and I personally don't see anything wrong with educating men and woman after all it has been voted #1 for 14 years straight why do you think that is?Do you take offense to being educated about things such as skincare and cosmetics?
I personally enjoy both getting advice and giving too. some people dont like advice and are a waste of your time. I am 43 and I still love advice from women younger than me. Some of us have to use products according to our skin type and age, but alittle fun advice is fun. Some people don't look good because they are afraid of change. I think it is a compliment when a friend or salesperson shows me something new. If you are a sales person don't waste your time because they are cheap and wonder why the sig other in their life lose interest.Do you take offense to being educated about things such as skincare and cosmetics?
To suggest an improvement to a woman about her looks is a very delicate subject. Some are willing to look for alternatives to their current skin regime but some can be insecure and touchy about their looks. To them, saying what they could change is easily translated into saying they're ugly an unfitting for the current society. Not intentional but there you go.
You are not allowed to offer anything for sale on this site. Its in the rules. Read them.
If you're talking about just someone on the street or something, that you walked up to and offered a product name to, then I ca see why they were slightly offended. I think unless someone comes to you and asks, then sometimes it's best not to say anything.

Maybe this person thought they looked really good, and didn't have a skincare problem or whatnot.

It depends really on the situation in which you spoke to her, but it's almost like walking up to someone on the street and asking when the baby is born, when they aren't really pregnant. They take it as an insult, even if they really do have a problem, they don't like it to be pointed out. Because other people notice they have a problem, they obviously know it themselves, and hate it, it's not like they don't know.
well its annoying when u ask a question and the arbonne/mary kay/avon lady comes on w/ a long post about why those products are the best, its like their are trying to push products on u
I also sell and use a skincare and cosmetics line and know how educated people are when they are employed by these companies. I think some of the best advice comes from those who work for the lines themselves.
Well it would depend on whether or not they want to be 'educated.' Also the fact that you are selling the product makes your motives seem a little suspicious.
Unsolicited advice can be seen as patronising and by some people as rather humiliating
I'd love to knoe what products your selling??
